With computer technology advancing at an alarming rate it's aesy to feel left out or that your system is lacking in various areas, or even outdated may spring to mind.

So how do we keep up? Does keeping up entail buying all the latest peripherals for our PC? Or does it mean buying the latest PC in the high street store?
These questions have been asked and covered in various computer magazine’s, and no doubt will be asked again many times in the future.
My services are designed to offer the everyday non technical home or small business user a service to enhance theirs and their family’s needs.

A computer is a hefty investment that deserve careful consideration, but all too often people stroll unprepared into a store only to emerge some time later, somewhat dazed, with a full-blown PC system wedged into a trolley; printer, scanner, webcam and all. It’s a crazy way to spend upwards of £600. Before you buy a PC as a replacement for your current one, consider your needs. Consider also if your current system can achieve your needs with just an upgrade of a few components. Give me a call free on 0800 44 88 975.

Depending on the age of your PC, upgrading can sometimes be a cost effective method of keeping your computer up-to-date.

Improving your PC performance ca be a simple matter. It must be noted however that some 'off the shelf PC's' offer very little options for expansion or renewal, and some may also have compatibility issues with certain hardware if you decide to upgrade your system to Windows Vista. I advise anyone with the intention upgrade to Vista to run the Windows Upgrade Advisor application from the Microsoft support website. This application scans your current system, recommends any components upgrade if neccessary and also informs you of any program compatibility issues if any.
But don't be put from upgrading. In the majority of instances most application patches are available either via microsoft update or the manufacturer's website, this also includes device drivers to enable compatibility with Windows Vista. So always obtain advice, or better still have your computer assessed before purchasing any components on your own for upgrading.

Before any repair work is carried out on any computer, I will give an assessment of the work to be undertaken and an approximate price likely to be involved before proceeding, where possible I try to stay within my quoted price, but sometimes it is unavoidable for the price to increase from my estimate.

Please note I will not over clock PC's and I do not recommend you do so. This will considerably reduce the lifespan of your computer and may also cause instability.
Badware report
Hackers are still finding new ways of posting malware on legitimate websites in order to infect people's PCs.
According to Stopbadware.org, a 'neighborhood watch' campaign more than half of the 200,000 sites it monitors have been hacked and don't even realise it.
In its 2007 Trends in Badware report, the campaign, which is led by Havard Law School's Berkman Center for Internet and Society and Oxford University's Oxford Internet Institute is warning people to be more aware of the risks lurking on legitimate sites.
Max Weinstein, a project manager with Stop Badware, said people should continue to keep security software up to date.
